(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – As a recently released annual report from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) demonstrated with cold hard statistics, crime is skyrocketing across the United States, and that is especially true when it comes to America’s large, urban populations.
Almost every Monday, Americans learn of the horrific number of shootings and subsequent deaths on the streets of Chicago during the previous weekend. The numbers are often staggering, with dozens upon dozens of residents shot and many of those ending up on the homicide blotter.
Now we learn that the same is true in New York City with a report focusing on the number of children – many just little kids – who’ve been murdered so far this year. That toll – 21 so far – is enough to fill an elementary school classroom.

According to statistics compiled by the New York City Police Department, the most alarming is how much higher the number of children killed in street violence is this year than in 2019 and 2020. The data collected shows that more than three times as many kids have been killed so far this year compared to those two immediately preceding years.
What’s causing this scourge of violence that is ending the lives of far too many children at far too young an age? While many offer ideas and suggestions, no one really knows. It does seem to reflect the growing violence across the nation as citizens of the United States continue to resort to violence more than in the past.
