ALERT: Aircraft Carrier Group Dispatched Because of Pelosi

USS Ronald Reagan

( – As tensions rise between the United States of America and Communist China because of United States House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) planned trip to Taiwan, the USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier and its accompanying carrier strike group have been dispatched toward Taiwan.

As the South China Morning Post reports in, “US aircraft carrier group heads towards Taiwan as tension over Nancy Pelosi’s possible visit continues to grow“:

China and the United States are building up their military strength around the Taiwan Strait as tensions rise over US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s possible visit to the island.

“The American aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan and its strike group, including a guided missile destroyer and a guided missile cruiser, set out from Singapore on Monday heading northeast towards the South China Sea, according to ship-tracking information provided by Beijing-based think tank the South China Sea Strategic Probing Initiative.” [emphasis added]

This new report follows quickly on an earlier report from the South China Morning Post stating:

US Navy warships and aeroplanes have stepped up activities in the disputed South China Sea, with a guided missile destroyer entering waters claimed by China three times in a week, according to the head of a Beijing-based think tank.” [emphasis added]

Those additional military movements have also been attributed to Pelosi’s intention to be the highest-ranking American official ever to visit Taiwan.
