ALERT: Garland Wants Trump Warrant Made Public

( – BREAKING NOW: With palpable anger in his voice at times, United States Attorney General Merrick Garland went before a national television audience just moments ago at the United States Department of Justice in Washington, DC, to announce that his prosecutors had filed a legal motion with the appropriate federal court to unseal the search warrant executed at former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence this week.

Garland also clarified that he “personally approved” the search of Trump’s home.

As the New York Post recounts what happened:

“Attorney General Merrick Garland said Thursday that he ‘personally approved’ the search warrant request for documents that triggered Monday’s unprecedented FBI raid on the Florida home of former President Donald Trump.

“Garland, in brief comments during which he declined to take any questions, also said the Justice Department had asked a federal magistrate judge to unseal copies of the warrant and would do so as long as Trump and his legal team do not object.” [emphasis added]

In his statement, Garland said, in part:

“The Department filed the motion to make public the warrant and receipt in light of the former president’s public confirmation of the search, the surrounding circumstances, and the substantial public interest in this matter. Faithful adherence to the rule of law is the bedrock principle of the Justice Department and of our democracy. Upholding the rule of law means applying the law evenly without fear or favor. Under my watch, that is precisely what the Justice Department is doing.”
