(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – BREAKING NOW: Just hours ago, based on a sealed federal grand jury indictment, Peter Navarro, who served President Donald Trump as Assistant to the President, Director of Trade and Manufacturing Policy, was arrested, handcuffed, booked, and is now awaiting presentment to a federal judge on two counts of criminal contempt of Congress for failing to respond to subpoenas from the United States House of Representatives Select Committee that is investigating potential illegal actions surrounding the January 6, 2021, protest at the United States Capitol.
Prosecutors took the relatively unusual step in a white-collar criminal case of keeping the warrant for Navarro a secret until he could be physically arrested and detained because of fears he may attempt to flee the country, tamper with witnesses or evidence, or take other steps to interfere with the criminal case.”
According to CNBC, “Navarro, 72, had refused to appear to testify on March 2 in response to the subpoena and also refused to produce by Feb. 23 documents sought by that same subpoena, according to the indictment in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C.”
Further, “A letter to Navarro issued with the subpoena on Feb. 9 from the panel said it had reason to believe he had information relevant to the investigation in the riot and invasion of the Capitol, which disrupted for hours the certification by a joint session of Congress of the election of President Joe Biden.”
