ALERT: Massive Food Recall; Salmonella Outbreak

(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Raising the alarm over the possible negative health impacts, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently announced a massive recall of all eggs from Milo’s Poultry Farms LLC, located near Green Bay, Wisconsin.

This recall is in response to a widespread salmonella outbreak linked to the eggs, which has caused illnesses across multiple states.

Milo’s Poultry Farms and all products from the Tony’s Fresh Market brand are included in the recall.

These products have been distributed in Wisconsin, Michigan and Illinois.

To date, 65 individuals have been infected with salmonella from these eggs, causing 24 hospitalizations. Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported.

The outbreak has affected nine states, with the majority of cases occurring in Wisconsin and Illinois.

The FDA has advised, “Consumers, restaurants, and retailers should not eat, sell, or serve recalled chicken eggs produced by Milo’s Poultry Farms, LLC and distributed to restaurants and retailers in IL, WI, and MI.”

In response to the outbreak, FDA inspectors are currently examining Milo’s Poultry Farms.

There, inspectors found traces of salmonella in both the poultry houses and the egg-packing areas.

Symptoms of salmonella, which include fever, abdominal cramps and diarrhea, generally appear within 12 to 72 hours after eating contaminated food and can last for about a week.

The FDA has urged anyone with these eggs to throw them away and thoroughly clean any surfaces or containers that may have been in contact with the contaminated eggs.

According to the FDA, Milo’s Poultry Farms, LLC decided to issue the recall voluntarily right after the investigation started.
