(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – A new Morning Consult poll released this week shows President Joe Biden has registered his lowest polling figures since entering the White House in January 2021.
The poll of 2,000 registered voters shows Biden’s approval ratings have plummeted to 39 percent, a decrease of 14 points from last year when Morning Consult conducted a similar poll between June 4 and June 7, 2021.
Currently, 58 percent disapprove of Biden’s performance as President.
Biden’s polling figures are worse than former President Donald Trump’s June 2020 polling, when then-President Trump was grappling with raging COVID-19 cases, widespread protests and riots because of police killings, and economic hardships linked to the pandemic.
In June 2020, Trump had an approval rating 6 points higher than Biden’s, achieving 45 percent approval and 52 percent disapproval.
With the midterms approaching, Morning Consult drew parallels between the President’s approval rating and Democratic incumbents, stating: “Biden’s decline has not yet dragged down approval for most Democratic incumbents on the Senate side of the aisle.”
However, they pointed out that historically a President’s polling has links to his party’s ability to maintain Congressional majorities.
Wednesday’s poll didn’t clear up what incumbents can expect in the midterms, showing that voters were evenly split (42 percent) on whether they would be voting for a Democratic or Republican candidate, with 16 percent remaining undecided.
Morning Consult polls have predicted victories and losses before. In September 2021, a poll by the group showed generic Republicans were trailing Democrats by 4 points.
