(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – The number of illegal immigrants apprehended by the US Border Patrol during the first 18 months of President Joe Biden’s administration has surpassed the number of those caught in the entire eight years of Barack Obama’s presidency.
Thus, 3,484,327 apprehensions of illegal aliens were registered in Biden’s first 1.5 years in office, compared with 3,384,816 arrests during Obama’s two presidential terms, The Washington Examiner reported, as cited by Newsmax.
Some illegals were arrested more than once since they may have been expelled and crossed the border again.
Earlier reports citing Customs and Border Patrol data and estimates put the total number of illegals who have entered the US on Biden’s watch at nearly 5 million, including a vast number of gotaways who were never apprehended by the US authorities.
No fewer than 150,000 illegals have been busted every single month for Biden’s first 18 months in office, and in most cases, the number has been around or above 200,000.
While in the 2021 fiscal year (October 1, 2020-September 30, 2021), there were 1,662,167 apprehensions, the first ten months of the 2022 fiscal year saw a total of 1,822,620 arrests.
The measures adopted by the Biden administration boosting illegal immigration include immediate termination of the border wall construction on the president’s first day in office, ending the policy of turning away unaccompanied illegal immigrant children, and an attempt to stop deportations for 100 days, the report noted.
A new statement by Texas’ Republican Governor Greg Abbott has blasted the “catastrophic” open-border policies of Joe Biden for the strain they have put on Texas communities and resources.
“The Biden-Harris Administration continues ignoring and denying the historic crisis at our southern border, which has endangered and overwhelmed Texas communities for almost two years,” Abbott said in a release, as cited by Texan.com.
“Our supposed Border Czar, Vice President Kamala Harris, has yet to even visit the border to see firsthand the impact of the open border policies she has helped implement, even going so far as to claim the border is ‘secure.’ Texas will continue sending migrants to sanctuary cities like Washington, DC until President Biden and Border Czar Harris step up and do their jobs to secure the border,” the Texas Governor stated.
He was referring to Harris’s recent comment that the US-Mexican border is “secure” and to his program to ship off illegal immigrants to Democrat-run communities such as Washington, DC, New York City, and Chicago.
