The State Department has set up the “Tomorrow’s Leaders Gender Scholars Program” with $15 million. This program was created so international students could get involved in gender studies, specifically at the American University in Cairo, Egypt, and the American University of Beirut in Lebanon, as mentioned by the Daily Caller.
If students sign up for a gender studies course every semester, they can get their entire tuition fee paid for by this program, according to the State Department’s grant details. But that’s not all. Students who get this benefit also have to be part of activities or brief projects that push for gender equality, meaning spreading radical-left values.
As per the grant information, this opportunity is open to students from roughly twelve Middle Eastern nations, such as Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, Syria, Yemen, the West Bank, and Gaza.
The American University in Cairo highlights this program on its website, describing it as a chance for students to develop into individuals who are aware of gender issues and are responsible members of society. Those who join can not only get free tuition for two terms but also receive training, mentorship, career guidance, and guidance from faculty, says the university.
At the University in Beirut, those in the program also work on academic papers, join leadership activities, and attend workshops that prepare them for professional life, as stated on its website. The Beirut University believes these students will be future leaders, taking forward the values of social justice and gender equality from their campus to their professional lives, effectively pushing out a leftist agenda on society.
Besides burning American money on trivialities, the main goal of this initiative by the Biden administration is to get more students to take gender studies courses. Progressives see the program as valuable because introducing gender studies in college enhances the focus on societal, political, and economic aspects of the progressive agenda.
