(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Following months of speculation and hinting by those in the GOP that President Joe Biden’s mental ability could be declining, the party is pushing for Biden to get a cognitive test.
Almost 40 Republican lawmakers have expressed they would like Biden, 79, to take a cognitive test; something former President Donald Trump also did, following recent polls that show Americans are unconvinced about the President’s mental fitness for office.
In a letter led by a former physician to the President, Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX.), and signed by 37 GOP members, the concern is raised about Biden’s “current cognitive state.”
According to a report by Fox News Digital, Jackson and his GOP colleagues are requesting that “President Biden immediately undergo a formal cognitive screening exam, such as the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MOCA).”
Jackson continued his statements, saying that “As a former physician to three Presidents of the United States,” he knew what was “mentally and physically to execute the duties of Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.”
The Texas Republican then went on to suggest that Biden had “continually” showed signs “that something isn’t right,” and as a result, deserved to restore the American people’s confidence in his “cognitive ability.”
He added that the test would “be an important first step” to reassure Americans that the President is fit for office,” stating that this request was “not a partisan issue.” Instead, Jackson pointed to former President Trump being “eager to assure the American people and to put the fake news media’s stories to bed,” before querying why Biden wouldn’t do the same.
Jackson went on to say that the worst could only be assumed if Biden didn’t “submit to the same standard that his own party demanded of the last Administration,” adding that “regardless of gender, age, or political party, all Presidents should follow the example set by former President Trump.”
