(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – BREAKING NOW: Demonstrating in the most tragic of ways that a change in leadership won’t easily stop the deadly street violence tormenting the once great city of Chicago, there was an extremely bloody night at the start of the holiday weekend.
Based on the excellent reporting of Breitbart and several other news outlets, it is known that during the inaugural Memorial Day weekend under the jurisdiction of Chicago’s Democratic Mayor Brandon Johnson, a staggering 12 individuals were victims of gun violence, with three succumbing to their injuries.
As reported by WGNTV, the initial fatality occurred approximately at 12:50 a.m. when a 33-year-old male was discovered unresponsive near the 7800 block of South Seeley Avenue. The man had sustained a gunshot injury to his armpit and was declared deceased at the location.
Following this incident, another male, aged 34, was found on the pavement close to the 500 block of West Surf Street. He had suffered a gunshot wound and was subsequently transported to a medical facility, where he was pronounced dead.
The third fatality occurred shortly before 3 a.m., wherein a 26-year-old woman was shot in the face while in proximity to the 2300 block of West 18th Street. She, too, was declared dead at the scene.
As highlighted by Breitbart News, a total of 23 individuals were victims of gun violence over the course of Mayor Johnson’s initial weekend in office. Tragically, one of these individuals did not survive their injuries.
The Chicago Sun-Times shed further light on the gravity of the city’s situation, stating that from the onset of 2023 until May 26th of the same year, the city of Chicago has seen 217 individuals lose their lives to violence.
