(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – HAPPENING NOW: While carefully choosing her words to seemingly add balance, a reporter on the ground in Uvalde, Texas, where one of the worst school shootings in the history of the United States took place this week, said that President Joe Biden’s visit there today is causing “a lot of outrage.”
Air Force One, with Biden and First Lady Jill Biden aboard, just landed moments ago as they head to the grieving community.
According to the Washington Examiner publication, “Stella Chavez, an immigration and demographics reporter for KERA News, was asked by CNN’s Brian Stelter if the families of the victims care about Biden’s trip on Sunday.”
According to Chavez, there is “a lot of outrage” over Biden’s visit just days after 19 students and two teachers were gunned down at Robb Elementary School.
Concerning the reaction by locals to Biden coming to their community, Chavez said, “I think it depends on who you ask,” Chavez said during an appearance on Reliable Sources. I think, for the most part, the families who were affected want to focus on their loved ones who were killed. And I think having the leader of our country come here and express, you know, his condolences is important to them. But I also know, I’ve heard people say, you know, now is not the time for him to come here.” [emphasis added]
Asked by Stelter to explain further, Chavez added, “I think some people are concerned about politicizing this event. And I’ve heard a lot of outrage from people. But I’ve also heard from folks who say, ‘I don’t want to focus on that, on what could have happened, what should’ve happened, I just want to focus on the kids.’ So I would just say it depends on who you ask. But I do think it’s significant that he’s coming here and especially so soon after another similar trip to Buffalo where a horrible mass shooting also happened.” [emphasis added]
