(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – BREAKING NOW: Just moments ago, the House Select Committee empaneled by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to investigate the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol protest, issued subpoenas to House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and four other House Republicans who have refused to cooperate with the investigation voluntarily.
The other congressional Republicans subpoenaed by the committee are Representatives Jim Jordan of Ohio, Mo Brooks of Alabama, Andy Biggs of Arizona, and Scott Perry of Pennsylvania.
According to the committee’s publicly available records, this is the first time it has issued subpoenas to sitting members of Congress.
If the committee’s past practices are predictive of what might happen if any of the newly subpoenaed individuals disobey the orders, the committee will seek to hold those individuals in criminal contempt of Congress.
