(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Happening Now: In a move that is sending shockwaves through conservative circles, the New York City Council will soon vote to enable close to 1 million “non-citizens” to vote in elections.
Specifically, non-citizens with green cards and non-citizen residents with work permits will be empowered to vote in city elections.
As reported by National Review, “Around 808,000 New York City residents who have work permits or are lawful permanent residents would be eligible to vote under the legislation, which has the support of 34 of 51 council members, a veto-proof majority.”
This development comes at a time when conservatives across the country are accusing President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and the entire Democratic Party of ignoring the tidal wave of illegal aliens entering the United States from Mexico in an attempt to bolster Democrat voting rolls.
The belief by many conservatives and Republicans is that Democrats will first empower non-citizens to vote in local elections with the goal of quickly moving to allow them to vote in state and federal elections.
While New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is on record saying that he might veto the legislation, the council has now gathered veto-proof support from the current council members, and mayor-elect Eric Adams previously submitted testimony saying he supports giving non-citizens the right to vote in New York City.
What is your opinion? Do you agree or disagree with non-citizens being granted the right to vote in local elections where they reside?
