(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – BREAKING NEWS: In saddening news for Waffle House enthusiasts, Waffle House’s president and CEO, Walt Ehmer, has passed away at the young age of just 58.

Ehmer was also a trustee for the Atlanta Police Foundation, which announced his death.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Walt Ehmer, the president and CEO of Waffle House and a beloved member of the Atlanta Police Foundation’s Board of Trustees,” the foundation posted on Facebook.

The late Waffle House owner began his journey with the company in 1992 and quickly climbed the ranks.

According to his alma mater, Georgia Tech University, he became president in 2002 and later took on the roles of CEO and chairman.

Mayor Andre Dickens stated in a press release, “His leadership, dedication and warmth touched the lives of many, both within the Waffle House family and beyond. He leaves behind a remarkable legacy.”

Similarly, Waffle House’s board of directors shared over the weekend afternoon that Ehmer succumbed to a prolonged illness.

“He will be greatly missed by his entire Waffle House family,” their statement read.

It continued, “We will share more details in the coming days, including highlights of Walt’s 30+ year career at Waffle House.”

The foundation expressed it would extend its deepest condolences to Walt’s family and highlighted to keep them in its thoughts and prayers during such a difficult time.

From 2012 to 2013, Ehmer chaired the Georgia Tech Alumni Association Board of Trustees.

He also contributed to several other organizations, including the Georgia Tech Foundation Board and the Georgia Tech Advisory Board.

In addition, Waffle House, known for its round-the-clock diners, began in 1955 and has since expanded to over 1,900 locations across 25 states.

Ehmer is survived by his three children, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution stated.
