Carjacking Rises 537% In Minneapolis

Minneapolis officials have a mess on their hands,” according to Blaze Media.

Following the death of George Floyd, the City Council vowed to dismantle the city’s police and encouraged anti-police protests.

“But then the thing that happens when there’s a law enforcement vacuum happened: Crime increased — bigly. And now the city is facing a wave of a type of crime that had been pretty infrequent: violent carjackings.

According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, cops have recorded almost 130 carjackings in the city over the last two months. Initially, they believed the crimes were happening mostly among bands of teenagers, but they soon discovered that it’s not just marauding youths. Recent weeks have seen a rising number of adults being nabbed for carjacking, too.

“And things are getting worse.

“Just last Saturday, cops reported three separate carjackings in the span of one hour, the Star Tribune reported.

“These types of attacks were up 537% for November, compared to one year ago.”

Please share your thoughts in the comment section on this page? Do you believe the rise in violent carjackings in Minneapolis is at least partially due to the “Defund the Police” movement?

  1. Peggy says:

These people that want to get rid of police are stupid. I say make a law where they cannot have someone patrolling there property. They need a good taste what we the people have to go through.

  2. tired of the idiots defunding says:

The community should demand that all elected officials patrol the streets and response to calls for help in place for police. Then and only then will they understand the need for POLICE.

  3. Anthony C says:

keep defunding the police youget what you get. those politicians who push for defunding, all police should stop patroling around thier homes and lets it be known on social media address and all

    • Raymond says:

The best way to stop the “Defund the police,” is to publish their address and if we get a call from those addresses, tell them the call will be answered as soon as we have finished our coffee. The police are doing more important things, like writing tickets for running stop signs, parking illegally, and of course speeders. These are more important than protecting politicians

  4. henry says:

    not partially but fully
