(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Warning of what is to come, intense anti-Israel protests broke out on the streets of Chicago a day before the Democrat National Convention with one message: “Welcome to hell week.”
Protesters took to the streets, eager to challenge leading Democrats about the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
Many used social media to express their intentions to “bring the war home,” as demonstrations are set to continue throughout the week.
Tensions have escalated just as Democrats were about to nominate Kamala Harris and her vice presidential pick, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
During one confrontation, protesters stormed the stage at a delegate event at Navy Pier.
A protester seized the microphone to accuse attendees of “funding a genocide,” as reported. Outside, more protesters gathered and hinted at a “week of justice.”
An organizer identified only as Jinan confronted the Democrat Party’s stance on Israel’s actions in Gaza, declaring, “Welcome to hell week.”
Waving Palestinian flags, demonstrators warned, “DNC go home or we’re gonna bring the war home.” The day’s protests also saw demands for abortion rights and LGBTG recognition.
One protester named Nael voiced frustration Harris’ stance on issues important to Arab and Muslim voters.
“She’s not going to take a legitimate stance, so until we can have Kamala Harris actually come to the table and make a legitimate concession, actually make a legitimate push to get the Arab and Muslim vote,” he stated.
He criticized the superficial efforts to win their votes, saying, “You can’t just say appreciate things and high-level abstracts in order to get our vote.”
Chicago Sun-Times photographs captured the heavy police presence, with numerous officers on bicycles near the scene and others guarding the statue of John Logan, a historical figure who served as a Union Army general and later as a U.S. Senator from Illinois.
As the protests concluded, some demonstrators were heard chanting, “From the river to the sea,” a phrase that the Anti-Defamation League considers a call for the destruction of Israel.
More large-scale protests are expected to unfold at Union Park, conveniently located about 10 minutes from where the convention is set to take place.
