Cracker Barrel’s ‘Woke’ Menu Backfires

(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Cracker Barrel, a southern country restaurant chain, has added to its menu a new item that has infuriated its customer base of meat lovers and has won it an accusation of wokeism.

The backlash occurred after a recent post on Facebook. Cracker Barrel unveiled its new menu item – an “Impossible Sausage” advertised as a “meat substitute that has the appearance of sausage — at least to the untrained eye.”

The Cracker Barrel post boasted that with the new offering, it would be exploring the “new meat frontiers.”

“Experience the out-of-this-world flavor of Impossible™ Sausage Made From Plants next time you Build Your Own Breakfast,” it said.

The Impossible Sausage has been made available in 50 Cracker Barrel restaurants in an attempt on the company’s part to expand its client base to vegetarians.

“We’re always exploring opportunities to expand how our guests experience breakfast and provide choices to satisfy every taste bud,” the corporate team of Cracker Barrel told USA Today.

Its Facebook announcement has caused three classifications of responses: “praise, dissent, and those mocking customers for passionately caring,” according to Newsmax.

“Bad choice. Do your research,” Facebook user Brenda K. Mauney commented regarding the Impossible Sausage.

“You can take my pork sausage when you pry it from my cold, dead hands. Don’t tread on my pork!” wrote another user, Mark Vige, in all caps.

Another user, Joe Wicker, argued that Cracker Barrel’s Vice President of marketing has to be fired because the new menu item, the Impossible Sausage, is nothing short of “a woke social experiment based on ideology and not business.”

Wicker also revealed that he continues ordering “the double meat breakfast” even though it is no longer on the Cracker Barrel menu.
