DeSantis Slams Disney’s ‘Stupid Activism’

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis

( – Florida’s popular Republican Governor Ron DeSantis has again fiercely criticized Disney and other woke corporations trying to impose their far-left agenda on American families and children.

DeSantis spoke at the Moms for Liberty National Summit, attended by hundreds of parent activists.

DeSantis is up for reelection in November, and he is a top challenger of former President Donald Trump for the 2024 presidential nomination of the Republican Party.

In his speech at the Marriott Hotel in Tampa, Florida, DeSantis noted his administration’s achievements in cracking down on woke policies, especially by passing the Parental Rights in Education Act (PREA).

The law, attacked as “Don’t Say ‘Gay’” by leftists, forbids classroom teaching of sexual orientation through third grade.

While the governor spoke to an audience of hundreds, a small group of woke protesters marched outside the venue, insulting parents opposed to the teaching of Critical Race Theory, The Washington Examiner reported.

However, DeSantis was unperturbed as he spoke about stopping corporate woke policies, emphasizing how the Walt Disney Company cried foul over PREA, and even more so when the Florida legislature revoked its special self-governance status for the zone around Disney World.

“I honestly didn’t think that companies were going to say anything again. All I’m doing is trying to defend parents. The reality is Americans are sick of some of these companies and their stupid activism,” DeSantis stated.

“It’s one thing to advance things in the political arena, but when they can’t get things done through the ballot box, they use corporate power to do it and to impose a leftist agenda through corporate America. You’ve got to be concerned about that,” the governor elaborated.

“I’ve got to go out as a leader and make sure people understand that [Disney] do[es] not run the state of Florida. We’re not going to have our leadership subcontracted out to a corporation with close ties to the Chinese Communist Party, and that’s based in Burbank, California,” DeSantis concluded.
