Elon Musk: ‘Cisgender’ Is a Slur

Elon Musk

(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Twitter owner Elon Musk declared the words “cisgender” and “cis,” inventions of the “gender” ideology, will be treated as slurs on the social media platform.

“Cis” is a Latin prefix taken to mean the opposite of “trans.” The term “cisgender” and its shorter former “cis” were invented in 1994 and are used by transgender advocates to replace the words “men” and “women” known since the dawn of time.

In gender ideology, however, those are people who “identify with the sex that they were ‘assigned’ at birth.”

Elon Musk’s declaration that “cisgender” is a slur came after anti-transgenderism activist James Esses complained of harassment on Twitter by leftist activists.

Esses, who had made it clear he did not wish to be called “cisgender,” revealed in a tweet that he received messages telling him he was “cis” and a “cissy” regardless of whether he liked it or not.

Musk’s reaction “with outrage” to what he described as “harassment” came in reply to Esses’ tweet, The Washington Times reports.

“Repeated, targeted harassment against any account will cause the harassing accounts to receive, at minimum, temporary suspensions. The words ‘cis’ or ‘cisgender’ are considered slurs on this platform,” the Twitter owner declared.

Leftist users then accused Musk of hypocrisy because he was restricting free speech. Esses wrote that Musk seemingly meant using “cisgender” in targeted harassment would trigger account suspensions.

“Yes,” responded the owner of the social media platform.

The report notes that before Musk bought Twitter, the company used to treat the intentional “misgendering” or “deadnaming” of a user as harassment.

The latter refers to calling transgender individuals by their birth names instead of their “preferred” names.

“The episode is the latest indication that Twitter under Mr. Musk is attempting to repair relationships with conservative commentators,” The Times comments.

It points out that tweets by “many popular voices on the right” have been boosted and displayed in the feeds of users who don’t follow them since the ownership change.

“This is in part due to Mr. Musk’s own fascination with the conservative movement as he has become more openly political,” the report adds.
