(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Evidently, with President Joe Biden, it’s alright to have a wall (fence) around the White House to keep out his “undesirables.” However, he still plans on “lifting” the public health policy known as Title 42 on May 23, which will allow millions of illegal aliens to invade the United States across the unwalled southern border, much to the chagrin of many, including some Democrats.
Put in place by President Donald Trump in the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, Title 42 allowed the expulsion of illegal aliens that sought to enter the U.S. over the southern border. Biden is seeing a growing resistance within his party to his scheduled removal of that policy.
Although it was a linchpin of his many campaign promises, many Democrats are concerned about the unexpected surge of illegals that will occur if it is removed. Many Democrats now have similar worries that Republicans expressed if Title 42 disappears.
A White House spokesperson stated of Title 42, “This is not a policy to applaud or defend or anything.” Deciding not to fall on their own sword, the administration believes that the health risk does not preclude allowing “immigrants” to come into the U.S. without being sent back.
A few of the Democrats who are showing resistance to removing Title 42 include Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX), Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), and others from North Carolina, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.
Apparently, the red state of Florida influences Democrats towards that resistance.
Realistically, many Democrats are now looking at how ending Title 42 could affect their electoral chances in November. So politics may be overriding the safety issue.
No surprise there.
Louisiana, Missouri, and Arizona Republican attorney generals filed a lawsuit to prevent Biden from removing Title 42 on April 3 of this year. It is possible that the courts may have the final say.
Title 42 was, and is, a solid approach to handling the border issues. But ever since becoming president, Biden has dismantled many safeguards that worked at the southern border.
As it is now, he may end up helping the conservatives come the November elections.
