(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Joe Biden has got bad news after a pro-left pollster’s survey established that a sizable share of Democrat voters – almost a quarter of them – are concerned about his mental acuity.
The Harvard University and Harris Polls survey found that 24% of registered Democratic Party voters have doubts about the president’s mental fitness for the job. In comparison, 76% do not, Breitbart News reports.
Among the registered GOP voters, the share who doubt Biden’s mental fitness is 85% – and so does the vast majority of independents – 71%.
The poll established a solid majority across the board doubting the 80-year-old Democrat president is sufficiently mentally fit for the White House – 59%.
The remainder, 41%, said Biden was “mentally fit to serve as President of the United States.”
In another answer across the board, 68% of the poll’s respondents said they thought Biden was “showing he is too old” to be president, while 32% considered him fit for the role of a commander-in-chief.
Among registered Democrat voters, 43% think Biden isn’t showing to be fit to be president, while 54% believe the opposite.
At the same time, a whopping 91% of Republicans and 75% of independents view Biden as demonstrating that he is too old and hence unfit for the White House.
According to the poll, however, a majority of 62% of registered Democrat voters still support the president to win the 2024 Democratic Party nomination and seek reelection.
The only primary challenger to Biden, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., gets 16%, while self-help author Marianne Williamson is third with 5% support.
The remainder of the Democrat voters said they were unsure (11%) or supported “someone else” (5%). The pollster said those results had “no significant differences from June 2023.”
The poll reiterated previous findings that former President Donald Trump remains the favorite for the GOP presidential nomination with a big lead.
Yet, it also discovered that Trump now has a five-point lead over Biden in a head-to-head match-up.
The Harvard University and Harris survey polled 2,068 registered voters and was conducted July 19-20, 2023.
