Famed and Beloved ‘Godfather’ Actor Dead

(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Known for his roles in “The Godfather Part II” and “Full House,” beloved actor John Aprea passed away in Los Angeles at the age of 83 due to natural causes.

Aprea’s career highlights include his work in the iconic 1972 film, “The Godfather.”

While tending a bar in Los Angeles, the late actor met the film’s producer and director, Francis Ford Coppola. He auditioned for the role of Michael Corleone, a part that eventually went to Al Pacino.

Aprea was cast in the first sequel as the mobster Tessio.

He also became well-known for playing John Stamos’s father, an exterminator, on ABC’s “Full House” from 1988 to 1991, a role he later reprised in the 2017 Netflix reboot.

Moreover, his other credits span both film and television, including appearances in “The Montefuscos,” “The Idolmaker,” “Matt Houston,” “Mannix,” “The Rookies,” “NYPD Blue,” “The Stepford Wives,” “The Game,” and “American Anthem.”

Aprea also showcased his talent in films like “Caged Heat,” “Crazy Mama,” “The Manchurian Candidate” (2004), and “The Idolmaker” (1980).

Additionally, he took on another mobster role in “New Jack City” and portrayed mob boss Albert Anastasia in the acclaimed series, “The Gangster Chronicles.”

On the small screen, Aprea played a crook named Lucas Castigliano on the soap opera “Another World.”

He made guest appearances on shows like “The F.B.I.,” “Wonder Woman,” “Silk Stalkings,” “The Sopranos,” and “Cold Case.”

In turn, The Godfather star’s extensive filmography and the roles he played left a lasting mark on both television and cinema.

Fans and loved ones took to social media to express their condolences and pay tribute to the beloved actor.

He is survived by his third wife, Betsy Garci; his daughter, Nicole, from a previous marriage to actress Cherie Latimer; and his stepchildren, Marika Parker and Valentino Garci.
