(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – MSNBC contributor Jen Psaki, who up until very recently served as the White House press secretary, has admitted that President Joe Biden is a liability for the Democrats in the upcoming midterm elections.
Psaki only left Biden’s White House staff in May of this year to take up the position at MSNBC.
During her 15 months as Biden’s press secretary, she vigorously defended his actions and policies, often snubbing inconvenient questions by reporters.
Speaking on Sunday’s edition of NBC News “Meet the Press,” Psaki offered her take on which way the 2022 midterms would go depending on which issues would top the American voters’ agenda the most.
In her words, if the midterms focus mainly on which party is seen as “more extreme,” the Democrats would win the election.
To illustrate her point about “extreme” Republicans, she mentioned GOP US Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia.
“If [the election] is a referendum on the president, the [Democrats] will lose. And they know that” Psaki declared.
“They also know that crime is a huge vulnerability for Democrats, I would say one of the biggest vulnerabilities,” she added.
The former White House press secretary pointed to the US Senate seat race in Pennsylvania between Democrat John Fetterman, the state’s Lt. Governor, and Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz, in which the GOP is presenting the former as soft on crime.
“What’s been interesting to me is it’s always you follow the money, and where are people spending money. And in Pennsylvania, the Republicans have been spending millions of dollars on the air on crime ads against Fetterman because that’s where they see his vulnerability,” Psaki elaborated.
“Yes, the economy is hanging over everything. But you do have to look at state-by-state factors, and crime is a huge issue in the Pennsylvania race,” she emphasized.
The former White House official’s comments that Biden’s performance would be a liability for the Democrats in the upcoming midterms comes after a new public opinion poll found the president struggling to win public approval.
Even though other polls over the last few weeks showed Biden’s ratings going back to the mid-40s, a poll by ABC News and The Washington Post put his approval at 39% and his disapproval at 53%.
The survey also revealed that 57% of Americans think Joe Biden has “accomplished little or nothing” as president.
