When it comes to state abortion laws across the United States, one of the questions that is always raised and asked of politicians and elected officials (watch the video below) is what should happen in the case of rape or incest.
Yesterday, with the passage and enactment of the new Texas abortion law – the most restrictive in the country – a reporter asked that question (watch the video below) of Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
Clearly, Abbott appeared ready for the question.
Yet, his answer has sparked debate on many social media platforms in the United States.
Watch the video below of Abbott fielding the question and then share your opinion about his answer by emailing [email protected]. Do you agree or disagree with his answer? Why?
REPORTER: “Why force a rape or incest victim to carry a pregnancy to term?”
TX GOV.: “It doesn’t require that at all…it provides 6 weeks for a person to be able to get an abortion…Texas will work tirelessly to make sure that we eliminate all rapists from the streets…” pic.twitter.com/Rpk4cBxMKD
