Happening Now: Pain At The Pump Grows More Excruciating

Pain at the Pump Grows

(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Everywhere Americans go, one topic is dominating conversations. The ever-rising price of gasoline at the pump.

And, once again, the price at the pump has hit a new record high this week.

According to AAA, which has tracked the cost of gasoline for decades, today’s national average price for a gallon of gas is $4.48. That’s 15 cents higher than just a week ago.

As cnycentral.com notes, “Today marks record-high gas prices at the national, state, and local level, according to AAA data. According to the latest data from the Energy Information Administration, total domestic gasoline stocks decreased while gasoline demand dropped slightly. Normally a decrease in demand would bring prices down, but oil prices remain volatile, according to AAA.”

And the high cost of gas is impacting businesses.

According to Business Insider, “A family-run logging business in North Carolina is shutting down after being unable to cope with accelerating inflation and soaring gas prices.

“Bobby Goodson, who set up Goodson’s All Terrain Logging 37 years ago, said that he couldn’t find a way to keep the business running…

“Goodson said that he was going to start selling off his equipment. “I can’t park the stuff for six, eight months, a year waiting for the economy to turn around,” he said.”
