(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Exposing alarming foreign interference attempts, the federal prosecutor leading the investigation into Hunter Biden has stated that a Romanian businessman sought to leverage his ties with Hunter to influence the Biden-Harris administration.
Special counsel David Weiss’ team has affirmed that Romanian real estate mogul Gabriel Popoviciu engaged Hunter Biden in 2015 “to attempt to influence U.S. government agencies.”
At the time, Popoviciu was facing the potential loss of his business assets due to a corruption case in Romania.
According to prosecutors, bank records indicate that over the following two years, Popoviciu paid Hunter Biden and his associates at least $3 million.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has criticized the media’s coverage of the Biden family’s “influence peddling schemes” in Romania and suggested that it reflects broader issues of corruption.
“Bank records don’t lie. The mainstream media took their marching orders from the Biden White House & turned a blind eye to public corruption,” Comer stated on X.
Weiss argues that Popoviciu hired Biden’s son with the intention of drawing attention from U.S. government agencies.
Specifically, according to the court documents, Popoviciu hoped the U.S. would “investigate the Romanian criminal investigation into Gabriel Popoviciu and thereby cause an end to the investigation of Gabriel Popoviciu in Romania.”
In 2023, House Republicans initiated an impeachment inquiry against Joe Biden, accusing Hunter Biden of exploiting his father’s position to secure overseas business deals.
In a separate matter, Hunter Biden was found guilty this past June of falsifying information about his drug use on a federal form to buy a gun, making a false entry in a federal record and illegally possessing a firearm.
Moreover, Hunter Biden is set to face a federal tax trial in California this September.
He faces charges involving three felony counts and six misdemeanors related to an alleged $1.4 million in unpaid taxes.
These latest allegations concerning the Romanian businessman surfaced in a court document related to Hunter Biden’s upcoming tax trial.
