After all, the United States of America hasn’t been this politically split since the Vietnam War or perhaps even the Civil War.
So, all Americans sit up and take note when such a large percentage of their fellow Americans agree about an important topic.
What do 70 percent of Americans agree about?
The need for increased domestic oil and gas production.
As Rasmussen Reports learned during a recent survey of Americans:
“With gas prices soaring, energy policy is likely to be a major issue in the midterm election campaign, and voters strongly favor a policy of promoting domestic petroleum production.
“The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 70% of Likely U.S. Voters believe the U.S. government should encourage increased oil and gas production to reduce America’s dependence on foreign sources of oil and gas. Only 18% oppose a policy of encouraging U.S. energy independence, while 12% are not sure.” [emphasis added]
Botton line: Americans are sick and tired of being dependent on OPEC and foreign countries for oil and gas. They know the United States has the capacity to be 100 percent energy independent, and that is what they want right now and for the future.
It really is that simple.
