(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – A gigantic war storm is brewing in the Middle East as the Islamic Republic of Iran, a chief sponsor of terrorism, has presented US ally Israel with a deadly threat, stating an Israeli ground operation to destroy the Hamas terrorist group would cause severe “consequences.”
Iran has now warned Israel both publicly, on social media, and privately, via the UN, not to invade the Gaza Strip, an overpopulated minuscule enclave of 2.2 million people, to attack Hamas, an Iranian proxy, according to reports by Axios and Reuters, as cited by Newsmax.
The Iranian warning comes as the Israeli military is pounding Gaza targets with air strikes and is preparing to enter the Palestinian enclave after, on October 7, Hamas terrorists attacked Southern Israel, killing over 1,300 civilians, including two dozen Americans.
According to Axios, Iran used the Organization of the United Nations to send Israel a message that it would react if the latter launched a ground offensive in Gaza.
“If the Israeli apartheid’s war crimes & genocide are not halted immediately, the situation could spiral out of control & ricochet far-reaching consequences — the responsibility of which lies with the UN, the Security Council & the states steering the Council toward a dead end,” Iran’s UN mission posted on X in the meantime.
The warning was formalized on Sunday by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, who said, “If the Zionist aggressions do not stop, the hands of all parties in the region are on the trigger.”
“The responsibility for the possible opening of new fronts of resistance in the region and any escalation of today’s war directly falls on the United States and the Zionist regime [Israel],” the Iranian foreign minister added.
He made the declaration after meeting with Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Qatar, as they “agreed to continue cooperation” to achieve the terrorist group’s goals, according to a Hamas statement.
As the Israeli military readied itself for an operation in Gaza to confront the Islamist militants, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his determination to “demolish Hamas.”
The US’s diplomatic strategy is centered on ensuring Iran remains out of the conflict while restricting the escalation, especially in Lebanon, to avoid a potential regional war, Reuters comments.
