(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Although the White House recently called them “critical partners,” Kamala Harris plans to distance herself from Joe Biden.
According to a source, while Harris has not openly said she wants to separate herself from Biden, people close to her said that she is aiming to step away from Biden’s economic policies, especially on inflation and price hikes.
Beyond the economy, Harris is also looking to carve out some space between herself and Biden on other issues, particularly the president’s “often-backward-looking lens on democracy and other issues.”
Harris is set to give her first policy speech three weeks after entering the presidential race, where she plans to outline her platform.
Despite this apparent desire for distance, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre emphasized that Harris and Biden have been a united team in achieving the administration’s “historic, unprecedented achievements.”
“… because they’ve been partners … certainly those historic, unprecedented achievements have been done together,” Jean-Pierre said, highlighting Biden’s view of Harris’ contributions.
She added, “I’m not going to parse out anything from here. They have been partners. She’s been a critical partner for this president during this term, and we’ll continue to do so.”
As Harris works to define her identity, her campaign is reportedly revisiting some of her previous policy positions. In the 2020 presidential campaign, Harris supported a ban on fracking, mandatory federal gun buybacks, and the abolition of private health insurance. However, her campaign staff has since walked back these stances.
Regardless of all the behind-the-scenes maneuvering, Harris has yet to sit down for an interview or hold a press conference three weeks into her campaign.
The campaign has also been tweaking headlines and descriptions of articles in Google search results to make them appear as ads from the Harris campaign.
Meanwhile, the Trump campaign is seizing on Harris’ limited media appearances and plans to contrast her record by sending Senator J.D. Vance to shadow her on the campaign trail.
“To highlight that, Senator Vance and President Trump are showing up where Kamala Harris is not,” a campaign spokesperson asserted.
Additionally, the spokesperson noted that Trump attended the National Association of Black Journalists conference, which Harris did not.
