(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Despite not having released a thorough policy platform since her campaign began, Kamala Harris officially accepted the Democrat presidential nomination.
During the Democrat National Convention’s final night, Harris spoke mostly about her personal journey and took shots at GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump.
“On behalf of everyone whose story could only be written in the greatest nation on earth, I accept your nomination to be president of the United States of America,” Harris declared at the start of her speech.
She shared her motivations from childhood, including her decision to become a prosecutor after witnessing a friend suffer abuse, and her mother’s advice to never tackle anything “half-assed.”
She then outlined some general policy plans, such as pushing for bipartisan border legislation that did not pass the Senate and setting national standards for abortion access.
Harris committed to supporting Israel’s defense rights while advocating for peace and a hostage agreement in Gaza.
She frequently criticized Trump, describing him as a danger to personal freedoms like abortion rights, and noted his recent legal issue.
“I will not cozy up to tyrants or dictators who are rooting for Trump. They know he is easy to manipulate. He will not hold autocrats accountable because he wants to be one himself,” Harris asserted.
Trump countered by commenting live on Harris’ speech on Truth Social, posting 37 times during the 41-minute talk.
The convention began focusing heavily on Harris after Joe Biden stepped out of the race and endorsed her.
As the convention wrapped up, it was clear the focus was on pushing Harris forward, though she rarely mentioned her tenure as vice president.
Despite the enthusiasm at the DNC, the Trump campaign criticized Harris for refusing to engage with the media and for lacking a clear policy platform.
Harris mentioned she would likely give an interview by the end of the month, though Biden had already appeared on CBS News before her.
As the convention concluded, Harris still had not presented a detailed policy platform on her website.
In response, Trump’s team launched a webpage outlining what they called Harris’ “dangerous policies.”
Meanwhile, the Democrat National Committee had already published its platform, which focused significantly on contrasting Biden and Trump.
