Legendary Football Player: ‘We Look So Pathetic’ Because of Biden

Boomer Esiason

(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – NFL legend Boomer Esiason declared the United States had been made to “look so pathetic” because of President Joe Biden’s prisoner swap deal with Putin’s Russia, in which a WNBA player was exchanged for a notorious arms smuggler.

Biden on Thursday announced the U.S. government had handed over “the merchant of death,” Viktor Bout, for basketball player Brittney Griner.

Bout was ten years into serving a 25-year sentence in the U.S. for illegal arms trafficking. Griner was nabbed at a Moscow airport in February and sentenced to nine years in prison for possessing hashish oil.

The swap deal had been months in the making, but reports claimed the U.S. would get both Griner and former US Marine Paul Whelan, who is serving a 16-year sentence in Russia for “espionage.”

NFL legend and WFAN host Boomer Esiason’s reaction to the US-Russian prisoner exchange came after he commented on a tweet by Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons.

“Wait nah!! We left a marine?!! Hell nah,” Parsons wrote on Twitter.

His tweet survived for several hours before he was apparently convinced to delete it after “bowing to the woke mob,” Breitbart News reported.

The report noted the Russians refused to include Paul Whelan together with Griner in the deal that freed Viktor Bout because they considered the former US Marine a “spy.” Whelan himself has alleged the charges against him were fake.

“Through an act of tremendous cowardice, betrayal, and pure political calculation, Biden agreed to swap a man who had tried to sell anti-aircraft missiles to terrorists who wanted to kill Americans for an anthem-protesting WNBA player and left behind a Marine,” Breitbart commented.

The comment referred to Brittney Griner’s woke comments and actions in the years before her arrest in Russia.

Before Parsons’ tweet was deleted, it was picked up by Boomer Esiason, who declared that “more people feel that way than don’t.”

“I can tell you that right now. I know that we’re all happy that Brittney’s home, like we said earlier on. But when you think about the magnitude of what we traded to get back a WNBA professional athlete and left a Marine sitting there whose family has been trying for years to get him out of there with nothing, nothing from the U.S. government,” Esiason said.

“I kinda feel like the Russians basically were using her to get this guy out. It’s not an even swap – it’s not. We all know what happened to Brittney should have never happened,” the WFAN host added.

“But man, we look so pathetic. And listening to our President talk about this is such a pathetic feeling. I want to be happy, but I can’t be,” he added.
