MASSIVE Recall – CRASH Risk!

In another example of corporate oversight, Ford Motor Company has announced a recall over a crash risk affecting more than 270,000 of its popular SUVs.

The issue stems from misaligned brake lines that increase the risk of accidents. As safety concerns mount, customers are urged to respond promptly.

Ford has recalled more than 273,000 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles from model years 2022 through 2024.

The problem goes beyond minor inconvenience—leaking brake lines could lead to longer braking times and potential crashes.

Ford has filed the recall with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Affected models include 2022-2024 Ford Expeditions and around 50,474 Lincoln Navigators.

The danger becomes apparent when the vehicle’s front brake lines contact the engine air cleaner outlet pipe, resulting in leaks that can cause longer brake pedal travel and reduced deceleration, The New York Post reports.

While Ford initiated this recall to prevent any accidents, the problem may have occurred during the engine installation at Ford’s truck plant in Kentucky.

Misalignment could cause the brake line to rub against engine parts, eventually leading to cracks or leaks.

“If there is a rapid loss of brake fluid or the brake fluid is completely depleted, this can extend the distance required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash,” Ford said, cited by USA Today.

The recall was acted upon after an increase in brake system warranty claims.

As of mid-April, Ford has received 45 warranty reports, two field reports, and two customer complaints, but thankfully, no accidents or injuries have been reported due to the defect.

Ford has pledged that owners of the affected SUVs will be notified by mail to have their vehicles inspected and repaired for free at any Ford or Lincoln dealer.

Those who have already paid for repairs might be eligible for reimbursement.

Dealers will be informed of the issue starting May 14, with customer notifications sent between May 26 and May 30.

For the past several months, Ford has investigated to resolve this issue.

A change was made in November 2024 in the radiator hose stowage process to prevent brake line bending.

However, it raises questions about why these problems occur in the first place and whether many issues will be preemptively discovered before vehicles reach consumers.

Affected customers are encouraged to contact Ford’s customer service line for further details.
