(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Fanning the flames of conflict by making wild claims, an MSNBC guest expressed fear about the potential influence Republican Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio could have if he becomes vice president this fall.
Guest and Republican strategist Susan Del Percio discussed her concerns on MSNBC with host Jose Diaz-Balart, highlighting Vance’s intellectual grasp of policy and his relative freshness in politics.
Vance, who was recently chosen by former President Donald Trump as his running mate, has served in government for just 18 months.
Despite this short tenure, Del Percio fears Vance’s deep understanding of policy could lead to significant changes within the bureaucratic landscape.
“He’s smart. What scares me is that he, although new to government, he’s only been elected for 18 months, he understands policy, and I think he’ll go to places if elected, that Trump doesn’t care about in government, and start making fundamental changes,” Del Percio explained.
Del Percio speculated that Vance might focus on areas of regulatory policy that Trump might overlook, such as environmental regulations or departmental operations within the Department of Justice, potentially leading to long-term changes within the federal bureaucracy.
“I think that what Trump should do, like if I was giving him one piece of advice, fire every single mid-level bureaucrat, every civil servant in the administrative state, replace them with our people,” Vance was quoted in a 2021 Newsweek article.
“And when the courts, because you will get taken to court, and then when the courts stop you, stand before the country like Andrew Jackson did and say the Chief Justice has made his ruling, now let him enforce it,” he added.
The broader discussion also touched on recent Supreme Court decisions that have limited the powers of regulatory agencies.
The highest court of the land struck down “Chevron deference” and required jury trials for civil fines under the Seventh Amendment in a case that involved the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
