Musk Accuses Jan. 6 Committee of ‘Misleading the Public’

(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Twitter CEO Elon Musk has accused the former January 6, 2021, Select Committee dominated by House Democrats of “misleading” the American public about the so-called “riot” at the US Capitol.

Musk’s accusation came in reaction to the airing of previously unseen January 6 footage by Fox News, which shows that what happened inside the US Capitol seemed much more orderly than it was presented publicly.

The footage was aired on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” after the new Republican Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy, gave the show’s host access to more than 40,000 hours of 1/6 videos.

Billionaire Elon Musk’s comments on the new footage came in response to a tweet criticizing the former January 6 committee members for lying.

The Twitter owner directed his tweet to some of the select committee members – Democrat US Rep. Adam Schiff of California and former GOP US Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger.

Cheney and Kinzinger were the only two Republicans on Nancy Pelosi’s committee but took an anti-Trump stance, leading the former president to label them “RINOs” (“Republicans in Name Only”).

“Besides misleading the public, they withheld evidence for partisan political reasons that sent people to prison for far more serious crimes than they committed,” Elon Musk wrote regarding the 1/6 committee members.

“That is deeply wrong, legally and morally,” the Twitter CEO added.

The footage that the new GOP House Speaker Kevin McCarthy released from the January 6 protests at the Capitol “appeared to contrast the narrative presented by former Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s select committee that investigated the events on that day,” Newsmax commented.

The report stressed that the new video showed that “QAnon Shaman” Jacob Chansley was escorted by at least nine police officers inside the Capitol.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson said in his commentary may be taken as an indication of officers’ complicity in the breach of the US Capitol.

House Speaker McCarthy released the footage after Democrats had insisted it should be kept from the American public over “security concerns.”

“I was asked in the press about these tapes, and I said they do belong to the American public,” McCarthy told The New York Times on Feb. 22.

“I think sunshine lets everybody make their own judgment,” the California Republican declared.

The final report of the January 6 select committee, which included seven Democrats and the two above-mentioned anti-Trump Republicans, concluded that then-President Donald Trump participated in a “multi-part conspiracy” to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election illegally.

It also claimed that Trump failed to prevent his supporters from storming the US. Capitol.
