(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Suggesting a change in approach, Nikki Haley urged fellow Republicans to “quit complaining” about Kamala Harris’ absence from media engagements.
Instead, the former presidential hopeful stated that the party should focus on the current administration’s track record and take Harry “at her words.”
Since Joe Biden anointed Harris as his successor on July 21, she became the likely Democrat nominee.
However, she has refused to hold formal press conferences despite being active on the campaign trail for over three weeks.
During a Fox News interview with host Bret Baier, Haley emphasized that Harris’ intentions were clear enough without such interviews.
“The Republican Party needs to make a serious shift here,” Haley stated. She criticized figures within the Republican Party and urged them to “quit complaining that she’s not giving an interview. You don’t need an interview from Kamala Harris.”
“I take her at her word,” Haley repeated. She then pointed out several of Harris’ stated policy intentions.
“I take her at her word that she wants to raise taxes for households over $100,000. That she wants to add a pharmaceutical tax and a healthcare tax,” Haley said. “I take her at her word that she thinks illegal immigrants should be able to vote and be given driver’s licenses.
“I take her at her word that she wants to ban fracking and kill a bunch of U.S. jobs. Take her at her word,” Haley firmly expressed.
The former U.N. ambassador also revisited her February prediction that Harris would be the Democrat nominee for 2024.
She encouraged the Republican Party, including presidential nominee Donald Trump, to focus on campaigning strongly against Harris instead of dwelling on her media strategy.
“We need him to win,” Haley remarked about Trump. “But you got to go out and do the work.”
Furthermore, Haley said the Republican campaign needed to attract a broad coalition of voters, including suburban women, college-educated individuals, independents, moderate Republicans and conservative Democrats, if they hoped to win the election.
She added that “the campaign is not gonna win talking about crowd sizes. It’s not gonna win talking about what race Kamala Harris is. It’s not gonna win talking about whether she’s dumb. It’s not, you can’t win on those things. The American people are smart. Treat them like they’re smart.”
