(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Most Democrat voters oppose a potential reelection candidacy by President Joe Biden for the 2024 election, a new public opinion poll has found.
Even greater numbers of independents and Republicans do not want Biden to run for the White House again, according to CNBC’s All-America Economic Survey cited by Breitbart News.
Thus, 57% of Democrats are against a Biden reelection run, as are 86% of Republicans and 66% of independents.
For American voters overall, 70% oppose the 80-year-old Democrat president’s likely reelection candidacy.
The CNBC poll found that Biden has the support of 19% of the American electorate.
Per the survey, former Republican US President Donald Trump has a better standing with his party’s voters.
Among Republicans, 37% are against the new Trump candidacy, which is 20 points better than Biden’s figure. The former president announced his new White House candidacy in November.
Trump is also doing better than Biden among the general electorate. His reelection bid is supported by 30% of them.
Among independent voters, 61% – five points less than in Biden’s case – are opposed to Trump running for reelection.
The poll discovered that while age is a “major negative factor” for opposing Biden’s reelection candidacy, that is not true in Trump’s case.
Biden, who turned 80 last month, has become the oldest president in US history and the first person in his 80s (“octogenarian”) to hold the post. He is known for his frequent “senior moment” gaffes.
According to the CNBC survey, 47% of American voters who say Biden shouldn’t seek reelection cite his age as a “major reason” for that.
That includes 61% of Democrat voters who are opposed to his potential candidacy and 66% of seniors who are against it.
In the 18-49 demographic, 43% of those against a Biden reelection bid said his age was the reason.
In former President Donald Trump’s case, 8% of Americans who opposed his new White House candidacy said it was because of his age. Trump is 76.
The CNBC poll was conducted from November 26-30 among 801 Americans and had a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.
If Biden were reelected in 2024, he would be 86 when he left office in 2029.
According to another poll, 58% of US voters think the Democrat president should undergo a cognitive test over fears he may have Alzheimer’s.
At the same time, fewer than 25% of voters are firmly convinced that he is mentally fit and healthy.
“If he were 60 and not 80, there would be absolutely no doubt,” Barack Obama’s strategist David Axelrod recently told The New York Times.
