(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Damar Hamlin is living proof that miracles do happen!
Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin made an emotional appearance at his team’s Divisional Round playoff game against the Bengals on Sunday, just three weeks after he went into cardiac arrest during a game in Cincinnati.
Hamlin, who was seen on a security cart in the leadup to the game, received a big ovation from the crowd during the first half and repeatedly raised his arms in response.
According to CBS, the 24-year-old visited his teammates in the locker room at halftime, with the Bills down 17-7. This is his first public appearance since being resuscitated.
However, Hamlin’s recovery from a near-death experience is ongoing.
His marketing representative, Jordon Rooney, said that Hamlin still requires oxygen and has his heart regularly monitored to ensure no setbacks or aftereffects. Though he can visit the team facility, Hamlin is not in a position to travel often and requires additional rest to help his body heal.
It is fitting that his first time being able to watch the Bills in person came against the Bengals, Buffalo’s opponent when Hamlin collapsed during the first quarter of a Jan. 2 game while tackling receiver Tee Higgins.
After Hamlin was taken to the hospital in Cincinnati, the NFL canceled that game. Higgins said Thursday he hoped Hamlin would be able to attend the game and expressed his happiness to see him.
His recovery so far is nothing short of stunning, and it’s a testament to the hard work and dedication he has put in. Even though the road to recovery is still long, Hamlin’s presence at the game is a reminder of the resilience and determination of the human spirit. Overall, it is an inspiring sight to see Hamlin cheering his team on as they look to make the AFC title game.
