(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – In new evidence that what’s written in the Bible is true, new research from Italy has found that the Shroud of Turin, known for its imprints resembling a man’s face and body marked with a crown of thorns, aligns with the biblical narratives of Christ’s crucifixion.
This study, led by Giulio Fanti, a professor at the University of Padua, utilized detailed mechanical and thermal measurements to examine the bloodstains visible on the shroud.
Fanti noted that these analyses reflect the severe physical traumas as described in the Gospels. He stated, “the physical conditions relating to Jesus Christ,” Newsmax reports.
Further, Fanti’s research underscores that the injuries depicted are in harmony with the descriptions found in the canonical Gospels.
He emphasizes that the evidence points to the shroud being used on an actual person who suffered real injuries rather than it being fabricated with artistic substances like ink or paint.
This 14-foot-long cloth, housed in the Chapel of the Holy Shroud in Turin, Italy, bears materials typical of ancient Jerusalem, suggesting its origins might be authentic and not a medieval European creation as some skeptics propose.
The study, published in July under the title “New Insights on Blood Evidence from the Turin Shroud Consistent with Jesus Christ’s Tortures,” reveals that microscopic particles on the shroud, specifically creatinine mixed with ferritin, are consistent with severe muscle trauma.
The presence of these compounds supports the hypothesis of extreme physical suffering.
The report details, “[N]umerous bloodstains scattered throughout the double body image of the HST show evidence that Jesus of the HST was tortured,” highlighting marks that correspond with biblical descriptions of pre-crucifixion flagellation, the crown of thorns, crucifixion wounds on the hands and feet, and a chest wound post-mortem.
Additionally, recent technological advancements have led to further intriguing discoveries regarding the shroud.
The New York Post recently covered a story about an AI-generated image of Jesus Christ’s face based on the shroud’s markings.
Also, Italy’s Institute of Crystallography reported that through Wide-angle X-ray scattering (WAXS), the shroud’s material dates back over 2,000 years, aligning with the timeline of Jesus’s life and death.
However, the Catholic Church has not officially declared the shroud’s authenticity, leaving the scientific community to explore its origins and connections to historical events.
