Ron DeSantis Hurt by Jeb Bush?!?

(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Florida’s former Republican Governor, Jeb Bush, seemingly endorsed the state’s current GOP Governor, Ron DeSantis, for the 2024 US presidential election.

The member of the Bush political dynasty declared in a Fox News interview that DeSantis should run for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination and the White House.

Jeb Bush was the governor of Florida from 1999 – 2007, becoming the first two-term Republican chief executive of the Sunshine State. His tenure coincided with his brother George W. Bush’s two terms in the White House.

After Jeb Bush, Florida has had two more two-term GOP governors – current US Senator Rick Scott and its current governor, Ron DeSantis, who was reelected in November with a 20-point margin.

In his interview from last week, which resurfaced on Monday, Jeb Bush stated that it was time for a new generation of American politicians and that DeSantis should use the opportunity to run for the White House.

“He’s been a really effective governor. He’s young,” Bush told Fox News anchor Brian Kilmeade, as cited by The Daily Caller.

“I think we’re on the verge of a generational change in our politics. Kind of hope so. I think it’s time for a more forward-leaning, future-oriented conversation, our politics, as well,” the former Florida governor said.

“Who better to do it than someone who’s been outside of Washington, who’s governed effectively, who I think has shown that Florida can be a model for the future of our country,” he elaborated.

Jeb Bush ran for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination, which went to Donald Trump. Jeb Bush quit relatively early and endorsed Texas US Senator Ted Cruz.

Florida’s Governor Ron DeSantis hasn’t announced his candidacy, but reports claim he will do so in May after the state legislature’s session ends.

DeSantis held a three-day Republican donor retreat over the weekend. In addition, he is about to launch a book and go on a nationwide media tour.

The Daily Caller report pointed out other Republicans have also advised the governor to run for president.

“In politics, you only get so many moments in time. There’s only so many moments where Ron DeSantis is going to be the incumbent reelected governor of Florida who just won by 19 points. And so, if he’s going to run, the time is now,” Jaime Miller, former executive director of the Florida Republican Party, previously told the outlet.

He added that the GOP must use the “Ron DeSantis model” to win the 2024 White House election, so they should have the person who invented it as their candidate.

The Republican nomination race already features the official candidacies of former President Donald Trump, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.
