(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Famous for her role in “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” Hollywood star Patti Yasutake passed away at the age of 70 after a long battle with cancer.
Her manager and friend, Kyle Fritz, confirmed her death and stated she died peacefully surrounded by loved ones.
Yasutake’s career spanned three decades, wrapping up with her final role in the highly acclaimed series “Beef.”
“Patti was my first client when I began over 30 years ago,” Fritz shared.
“We enjoyed every day we got to work together, and I will miss her spirit, talent, and tenacity but most of all her friendship,” he added.
Yasutake’s iconic role as Nurse Alyssa Ogawa on “Star Trek: The Next Generation” was later reinterpreted in “Star Trek Generations,” ensuring her legacy in the franchise.
Moreover, the beloved and celebrated actress earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the 1988 film “The Wash.”
According to a source, her film credits also include “Drop Dead Gorgeous,” “Blind Spot,” and “Road to Galveston.”
She also appeared in several TV shows, including “The Closer,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Bones,” “Flash Forward,” “The Unit,” and “Cold Case.”
Throughout her career, Yasutake was a passionate theater director and dedicated her talents to numerous theater projects.
As she was a beloved actress, sister and aunt, she is survived by her siblings, Linda Hayashi and Steven Yasutake, as well as a large extended family of nephews and nieces.
Additionally, a memorial will be held at East West Players Theatre. In her honor, the family requests that contributions be made to the theater company.
