(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – One of America’s most prestigious higher education institutions, the University of Chicago, will offer its students a class entitled “The Problem of Whiteness.”
According to the school’s course catalog, the “The Problem of Whiteness” course will be offered in the winter semester as part of the university’s “Critical Race and Ethnic Studies” program.
The course description makes it clear that it is based exclusively on the so-called “critical race theory (CRT),” a Marxist-Communist line of thought. CRT has been used extensively by the former Soviet Union to attack America and its allies in its anti-Western propaganda.
CRT unquestionably paints white people as “oppressors” and everybody else as “the oppressed.”
“Critical race theorists have shown that whiteness has long functioned as an “unmarked” racial category, saturating a default surround against which non-white or “not quite” others appear as aberrant,” reads “The Problem of Whiteness” course description.
“This saturation has had wide-ranging effects, coloring everything from the consolidation of wealth, power and property to the distribution of environmental health hazards. Yet in recent years, whiteness has resurfaced as a conspicuous problem within liberal political discourse,” the description says further.
“This seminar examines the problem of whiteness through an anthropological lens, drawing from classic and contemporary works of critical race theory… We will approach whiteness as a “pigment of the imagination” with worldmaking (and razing) effect,” the course instructors vow.
The University of Chicago’s “Problem of Whiteness” course is taught by two white women, Assistant Instructional Professor Katie Hickerson and Teaching Fellow Rebecca Journey.
The winter semester class will be taught by Journey, who completed her Ph.D. at the University of Chicago last year.
She studies “how the evolutionary and reformist logics of eugenic ideology animate the aesthetics of green urbanism in contemporary Denmark.”
Earlier this week, Daniel Schmidt, a University of Chicago sophomore, posted a picture of “The Problem of Whiteness” course name and description on Twitter.
He told The Daily Caller the course exemplifies “anti-white hatred” from faculty on the University of Chicago campus. The school has more than 7,500 undergraduates and almost 11,000 graduate students.
“Since I began studying at the University of Chicago a year ago, I have documented on my Twitter all the anti-white hatred I’ve seen. Without a doubt, this is the most egregious example,” Schmidt said regarding the “The Problem of Whiteness” course.
