(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – In a bombshell development, New York magazine political reporter Olivia Nuzzi has been suspended after it was revealed that she allegedly had a romantic relationship with former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. while on the campaign trail.
Nuzzi acknowledged the connection turned personal but clarified it was not physical.
Reports suggest the interaction included sexting, despite the fact that Nuzzi was engaged and Kennedy was married.
Nuzzi wrote a detailed profile on Kennedy in November 2023 and allegedly became closer to him afterward.
She met Kennedy at his home in Brentwood, California, and they spent time hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains.
A spokesperson for Kennedy characterized their interaction as limited to a single meeting that Nuzzi requested for an interview, which they claimed was unfairly critical.
After admitting the relationship to her editors, Nuzzi was suspended for breaching the magazine’s conflict of interest and disclosure rules.
Although an internal review found no bias or inaccuracies in her work, the magazine is conducting a deeper investigation with a third party.
“We regret this violation of our readers’ trust,” the magazine wrote in its statement.
While covering the 2024 presidential race, Nuzzi did not use Kennedy as a source, and their alleged romantic involvement is said to have started around the new year.
In her own words, Nuzzi expressed regret for not disclosing the relationship earlier and apologized to her colleagues and readers for the oversight.
Kennedy, who is known for past infidelities, has been married to actress Cheryl Hines since 2014.
Nuzzi was previously engaged to Politico reporter Ryan Lizza, but their engagement was recently called off.
Kennedy, who initially ran for president on the Democrat ticket, shifted to an independent bid.
He then suspended his long-shot presidential campaign and eventually endorsed Republican nominee Donald Trump.
