(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Discussing what has been happening in the political landscape, GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump minced no words when he blamed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for the failed assassination attempt on his life.
In an interview with Dr. Phil McGraw, Trump recounted the harrowing July 13 events when 20-year-old Thomas Crooks fired eight shots at him during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Although Trump was only grazed in the ear, Crooks killed 50-year-old Corey Comperatore, who died trying to protect his family.
The gunman also critically wounded 74-year-old James Copenhaver and 57-year-old Marine veteran David Dutch.
Many have wondered how Crooks managed to bypass the event’s strict security to fire at Trump.
The Republican candidate suggested that the blame extends beyond the security agents to the rhetoric used by Biden and Harris.
“People would ask, Whose fault is it? I think to a certain extent it’s Biden’s fault and Harris’ fault,” Trump said.
He elaborated by reminding that the Democrats persistently describe him as a “threat to democracy.”
“And I’m the opponent,” Trump continued. “Look, they were weaponizing government against me. They brought in the whole DOJ to try and get me. They weren’t too interested in my health and safety.”
Recent findings from a bipartisan group examining the attack revealed the Secret Service’s “multiple security shortcomings.”
Trump commented on the security lapses, saying Biden knew the protection was insufficient.
“Our people were always fighting to get more security, more Secret Service, and he knew that we didn’t have enough,” he stated.
Trump criticized Biden and Harris for repeatedly labeling him a danger to democracy: “They’re saying I’m a threat to democracy. No, they’re a threat.”
“They would say that. That was a standard line, just keep saying it. And, you know, that can get assassins or potential assassins going. Maybe that bullet is because of their rhetoric,” Trump remarked.
On Wednesday, a senior FBI official revealed new details about the investigation, noting Crooks had been planning an attack for some time.
Over the past five years, Crooks had researched events involving Trump and Biden and looked up information on explosives.
