(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Calling out an unashamed attempt to influence voters, the Trump campaign recently criticized a CBS News/YouGov poll for tilting its results to favor Kamala Harris.
According to a recently released poll, GOP nominee Donald Trump and Harris appear tied in critical battleground states.
Nonetheless, this particular survey suggests Harris has a slight lead over Trump, showing her at 50% to Trump’s 49%.
The campaign argues that changes in the poll’s methodology since a July 18 survey unfairly advantaged Harris.
Notably, the proportion of liberal voters increased from 28.5% to 30.2%, while moderates decreased from 31.8% to 30.3%.
Furthermore, the percentage of conservative respondents dipped slightly from 36.7% to 35.5%.
The margin of error reported also decreased from 2.7 percentage points in the July survey to 2.1 in the August survey.
The Trump campaign asserts that if the ideological weighting had remained consistent—similar to the constants of age, race, sex and partisanship—Trump would lead in the poll with a 51%-49% margin.
Trump campaign senior adviser Brian Hughes expressed his discontent with the media’s portrayal of Harris.
He stated, “The Fake News Media continue to help dangerously liberal Kamala hide her record of economic failure and soft on crime policies.”
“Now, as this analysis shows they’ll even put a finger on the scale of polling to inflate results for her,” he added.
Hughes further argued that the American public recognizes and rejects these biases, suggesting, “This analysis is why the American people are seeing through it and will not allow this national gaslighting campaign to win.”
“Despite this manipulated result, from CBS/YouGov it’s worth noting that in July and August of 2020, their data showed Biden leading by 10 nationally, reflecting a net positive movement of almost +10 to President Trump this election cycle,” he concluded.
Despite the controversy over survey methodologies, the latest data still shows Trump maintaining a strong lead among voters who support his immigration policies and those who believe they will be better off financially under his administration.
