(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – In a new decisive action to protect American interests and reverse yet another of Joe Biden’s failures, President Donald Trump has reinstated the Houthi rebels of Yemen as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO).

This move reverses the Biden administration’s previous decision and aims to cut off financial support for the Iranian-backed rebels.
The decision signals a strong commitment to safeguarding U.S. allies and maritime security in the volatile Red Sea region.
Trump’s executive order directs both the Secretary of State and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to identify and end support for entities backing the Houthis financially.
This significant policy shift follows a string of increased Houthi attacks on U.S. Navy warships and commercial vessels.
By re-designating the Houthis as a foreign terrorist group, the Trump administration aims to deter these hostile actions and protect crucial maritime corridors, ABC News reports.
In January 2021, Trump initially designated the Houthis as an FTO, a decision reversed by the Biden administration due to alleged humanitarian concerns.
This rollback, however, apparently emboldened the Houthis, leading to escalated attacks on civilian and military targets.
Restoring the FTO status serves as a strategic measure to weaken the group’s operational capacity.
“This order sets in motion a process by which Ansar Allah, also known as the Houthis, shall be considered for designation as a Foreign Terrorist Organization,” reads the executive order.
Yemeni officials have credited Trump’s leadership for prompting a shift in the Houthis’ posture, with leaders seemingly reducing attacks on non-Israeli maritime targets.
Nevertheless, Trump’s executive order demands vigilance and a concerted effort to sever the financial lifelines that have enabled Houthi aggression.
Through this commitment, the executive order requires the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, to act swiftly in assessing and reinforcing the designation.
The firm recommendation is to proceed with the FTO designation.

This harsher classification criminalizes support for the group and bars its members from entering the United States.
Meanwhile, USAID is instructed to terminate relationships with any entities aiding the Houthis, directly or indirectly.
The Executive Order signifies a no-tolerance policy toward those undermining US interests and security.
The Biden administration attempted to address humanitarian concerns by labeling the Houthis as Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGT) rather than an FTO.
However, this softer approach overlooked how the FTO designation could deter the Houthis, significantly affecting their logistical and financial operations.
While some express concerns about the potential impact on humanitarian aid, the Trump administration maintains that national and regional security cannot be compromised.
The execution of this decisive policy recognizes that strength and determination are crucial to maintaining peace and prosperity.
Any signal of weakness only emboldens adversaries.
By confronting those who wish to do the U.S. harm, President Trump ensures that America’s allies and critical interests remain steadfast and secure.
