Trump Slams Biden Over Russia and Ukraine

Former President Donald Trump

( – Former President Donald Trump has blasted President Joe Biden for risking a new world war over the Russian invasion of Ukraine, with a specific promise to stop the Nord Stream natural gas pipeline, which goes from Russia to Germany under the Baltic Sea.

Trump’s comments on Truth Social came after a massive leak of natural gas in the sea, which the governments of Denmark, Germany, and Sweden said was caused by two undersea explosions.

During his term, Trump sanctioned a doubling of the Nord Stream gas pipeline, nearly killing the multi-billion-dollar project.

The Kremlin envisioned the second direct pipeline to Germany as Putin’s favorite future cash cow as it bypassed Ukraine and other nations, leaving them without transit fees.

The so-called Nord Stream 2 was completed after Biden lifted the US sanctions in the spring of 2021 in what was deemed a concession to Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

However, the expansion never became operational because Putin invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, in an unprovoked war to restore the former Soviet empire.

In a post on Truth Social on Wednesday, former President Trump shared an ABC News transcript of Biden’s comments from February 7, in which he vowed to stop the natural gas pipeline if Russia invaded Ukraine.

“But how will you do that, exactly, since … the project is in Germany’s control?” the president was asked.

“I promise you, we will be able to do that,” responded.

“Wow, what a statement. World War III anyone?” Trump commented.

Some mainstream media interpreted his comment as hinting that the Biden administration may have sabotaged the Nord Stream gas transit pipeline.

At the same time, however, sources from European governments presume that the blasts were carried out by “Putin’s frogmen” to cause an energy crisis in Europe. Moreover, Ukraine’s government has directly accused Moscow of the pipeline attack.

“President Putin of Russia is now threatening the use of nuclear weapons, saying ‘it is not a bluff,’” Trump wrote further on Truth Social.

He reiterated his prior statements that the Russian leader would never have dared to invade Russia’s neighbor Ukraine on his watch.

“The Ukrainian conflict should never have happened and would not have happened if I were President. But as I have made very clear for quite some time, this could now end up being World War III,” he added.
