(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – With an opinion that many on the right side of the political aisle have said applies to many aspects of Joe Biden’s presidency, former United States Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard is arguing that Biden is no more than a “front man” for Barack Obama when it comes to the creation of a Disinformation Governance Board within the United States Department of Homeland Security.
“Biden is just a front man,” Gabbard said on Twitter Sunday. “Obama, April 21: social media censors ‘don’t go far enough,’ so the government needs to step in to do the job. Six days later, Homeland Security rolls out the ‘Ministry of Truth’ (aka Disinformation Governance Board).”
Gabbard, a fellow Democrat of Biden and Obama, was referring to Obama’s Stanford University speech last week in which he said tech companies struggle to moderate content and called for greater oversight.
“Now the good news is that almost all the big tech platforms now acknowledge some responsibility for content on their platforms, and they’re investing in large team of people to monitor it,” Obama said during the speech. “Given the sheer volume of content, this strategy can feel like a game of Whac-A-Mole.”
Obama stated that he believed employees at the companies were sincere in their efforts to moderate hate speech and violent content but that those companies must do more to limit such posts.
“But while content moderation can limit the distribution of clearly dangerous content, it doesn’t go far enough,” Obama said.
Obama’s remarks come at the same time the Biden administration has established a Disinformation Governance board to be managed by the Department of Homeland Security with the purpose of combating online disinformation.
And it is that timing between Obama’sspeech and the announcement of the creation of the Disinformation Governance Board that Gabbard and millions of others find suspicious and adds to the belief by some that Biden is the third term of the Obama presidency.
