(ReclaimingAmerica.net) – Twitter’s former management routinely censored legitimate opinions by medical experts who disagreed with the US government’s views and policies during the COVID-19 pandemic, the latest leak from the “Twitter Files” has revealed.
The Twitter Files – the leaks of internal corporate documents by the platform’s new owner, Elon Musk – have already revealed how Twitter has deliberately censored conservative and Republican Americans and was in collusion with the Democrats, Joe Biden’s presidential campaign, and the FBI.
The latest Twitter Files batch was revealed in a report by independent journalist David Zweig entitled “How Twitter Rigged the Covid Debate.”
In his 40-tweet report on Monday, Zweig said the new leak from Elon Musk disclosed that Twitter’s previous management blocked expert information simply because it was inconvenient to the leftist establishment’s narrative.
Twitter also suspended the accounts of doctors and scientists who offered such views – and to moderate the complicated scientific topic, it used computer bots and foreign contractors.
Zweig found evidence that Joe Biden’s administration was worried by “anti-vaxxer accounts” on Twitter, especially that of Alex Berenson, a journalist. Berenson was banned, sued Twitter, and later reached a settlement deal.
According to the latest Twitter File leaks, Biden’s team was “very angry” at Twitter for not banning more aggressively those accounts the Democrat Cabinet disagreed with.
“An extensive review of internal communications at the company revealed employees often debating moderation cases in great deal, and with more care than was shown by the government toward free speech,” Zweig reported.
He pointed out that Twitter ended up suppressing the views of doctors and scientific experts who “conflicted with the official position of the White House,” “differed from CDC guidelines,” or were “contrarian but true.”
The journalist made it clear censorship was aided by the fact “the political affiliation of nearly the entire staff at Twitter” was “leftist.”
One of those who got “de-platformed” under the policy was Harvard Medical School epidemiologist Dr. Martin Kulldorff.
One of his tweets was an expert opinion on vaccines, but it was still flagged as “false information” by a Twitter moderator. Kulldorft’s view was in agreement with vaccine policies in some other countries.
“Yet it was deemed ‘false information’ by Twitter moderators merely because it differed from CDC guidelines,” Zweig noted.
In another case, physician Andrew Bostom from Rhode Island was banned from Twitter for “spreading misinformation.”
When Bostom’s lawyer contacted Twitter, it turned out a tweet on a peer-review study on mRNA vaccines was falsely flagged because it “cited data that was legitimate but inconvenient to the public health establishment’s narrative about the risks of flu versus Covid in children.”
Foreign contractors in the Philippines and AI bots did much of Twitter’s moderation on pandemic topics.
“Tasking nonexperts to adjudicate tweets on complex topics like myocarditis and mask efficacy data was destined for a significant error rate,” Zweig said.
