(ReclaimingAmerica.net) United Airlines, one of the largest airlines and employers in the United States, previously said it would terminate employees who refuse to get the COVID-19 vaccination, and now the airline has begun the process of firing unvaxxed workers.
According to numerous news sources, United Airlines claims 97% of its employees are currently fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Still, a small number of United employees have filed a lawsuit against the airline arguing that they should not be forced to obtain the vaccine as a condition of employment.
In a pleading with the federal court in Texas that will determine the case, the United employees’ attorneys argue that “United’s actions have left Plaintiffs with the impossible choice of either taking the COVID-19 vaccine, at the expense of their religious beliefs and their health, or losing their livelihoods.”
However, even with the lawsuit pending, United has gone on record stating that it will begin firing unvaccinated employees as early as next week. Therefore, unless the court enters a temporary injunction that prevents United from terminating unvaccinated employees, those employees could be without a job in the very near future.
And, United is not alone. Numerous other employers across the U.S. have either threatened to terminate unvaxxed, employees or are already doing so. Time will tell if this causes a major upheaval and leads to an even deeper employee shortage crisis in the United States.
United said it will start termination proceedings against unvaccinated employees as soon as next Tuesday.
