Ever since being assigned to solve the growing crisis on the southern border of the United States, Kamala Harris has all but disappeared.
“Vice President Kamala Harris continued to draw criticism Friday about her absence from the U.S.-Mexico border region — and for not facing reporters about her role in overseeing President Biden’s border policies,” according to Fox News.
“Harris has so far avoided a border visit — or holding a news conference about her border-related duties — since taking on the new border role. She has now gone 17 days without speaking to reporters about her assignment. [emphasis added]
“On Friday, the Biden administration announced that Roberta Jacobson, a former U.S. ambassador to Mexico, would be stepping down as Biden’s southern border coordinator at the end of the month. Jacobson’s departure comes as the administration continues to struggle with a surge in migrants attempting to enter the U.S.
“Also on Friday, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott sent a letter to Harris, demanding the Biden administration shut down a child migrant housing facility, following accusations of child abuse. [emphasis added]
“‘The State of Texas previously warned about overcrowded conditions at these facilities, and now those conditions have led to allegations of child abuse and neglect,’ Abbott wrote. ‘Our repeated warnings and questions have gone ignored by President Biden, yourself, and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas.'”
